The Humane Slaughter Association (HSA) is holding a one-day seminar for the meat and livestock industry entitled “Animal Welfare at Slaughter – Hot Topics 2019”.
The seminar is aimed at all those associated with animal welfare at slaughter, eg animal welfare officers, veterinary surgeons, meat inspectors, food business operators, slaughter personnel, lairage workers, enforcement officers and legislators.
Speakers from the legislature, industry, enforcement, research, certification and training bodies will inform the assembly of their experiences in the chosen areas. The presentations will be followed by a discussion, chaired by Steve Wotton (previously University of Bristol), during which delegates will be encouraged to share their views on the topics presented, in addition to questioning the speakers.

The HSA Seminar will be held on Wednesday 9th October 2019 in the Donington Suite, at the Jurys Inn, East Midlands Airport, Castle Donington DE74 2SH. The day will start at 09.00 for registration and refreshments and will end at 16.30. There will be an hour break for a hot lunch around 12.30. The venue has good disabled and wheelchair access.
